Please join us for a peer-led group session designed for individuals living with pelvic pain. This group is led by you — your experiences, questions, and needs will shape our discussions. It’s a place to connect, share, and access resources with others who hear and understand you. Together, we’ll explore ways to build your personal toolbox of strategies to help manage pain and improve wellbeing. Anyone is welcome. Pyjamas and hot water bottles are absolutely encouraged!
Session outline: In this session you will have the opportunity to broaden your understanding of pelvic pain. Sometimes called ‘A Headache in the Pelvis’, pelvic pain like a headache is complex, there are a whole lot of structures in this area influencing each other. It is possible to have pain BOTH from your ovary or uterus AND from other places right nearby, such as: bowel, back or hip joints or abdominal pelvic floor or hip muscles. Pain, stress and tension can become a cycle of missing school or work, time with friends and physical activity. In this session you will learn about the incredible benefits of physical activity for pain, muscle tension, stress and mental health, we will also talk about where to start and how to work through the barriers holding you back to find the things you CAN change

Session outline: In these two sessions, we’ll learn about the psychology piece of the puzzle and its influence on pain. These sessions are largely practical and will provide you with several tools for managing your mood and your pain, including relaxation strategies, grounding, learning how to identify and modify your thoughts, and goal setting

Session outline: Many people experiencing persistent pelvic pain also experience bladder and bowel changes, often called IBS. These can include an urgent, frequent or painful need to go, cramping, difficulty emptying or diarrhoea. In this session you will learn that your bladder and bowel problems are influenced by daily routines and habits. These in turn influence pelvic pain. You will learn that there are many simple ways to slowly improve problems when you know how. The key message here is that you have more power than you think! By improving your daily routines and toilet habits you can improve the comfort in your pelvis

Session outline: This session is designed to broaden your understanding of sex and the multitude of factors that can influence sexual experience. We discuss the many possible contributors to painful sex including the role of the pelvic floor muscles and discuss this in the context of also experiencing pelvic pain
