Practical psychological strategies for understanding and managing persistent pain

Presented by: Dr Emily Hill – Psychologist

Session 1: 13th May 2026, 10:30am – 12pm

Session 2: 20th May 2026, 10:30am – 12pm

Location: In person at Kardinia Health

Participants: Limited to 10 individuals per session

Session outline:
In these in person, small group sessions across 2 weeks, you will learn practical strategies for understanding and managing persistent pain. In the first session, we will learn how to identify and regulate arousal states in your body. This will look different for different people, it’s about finding your own individual strategies. In the second session we will help you understand your inner dialogue – the way we speak to ourselves about our pain – and find ways to be fair and supportive to ourselves. Each session will run for about 1.5 hrs and you will leave with practical strategies for managing your pain.

We recommend you attend both weeks to get the most out of these sessions
